When you’re getting ready to sell your bullion and numismatic holdings, it is very important to consider the security of the coin dealer’s physical location. Oakton Coins and Collectibles is on the border of Chicago, in the very safe suburb of Skokie. We have a state-of-the-art, 360-degree video surveillance system in place. We also have a second door buzzer system. You will be the only person(s) in the room with us while we’re figuring out the worth of your valuables. 

Parking is right in front of the shop (or in back), and we can escort you to and from your car if necessary. We also have many more security measures in place that we would prefer not to publish on the internet, but you can have full confidence that everything is very secure.

A lot of Chicago area shops are fairly lax about who they let in while they’re negotiating deals. It’s always best to be careful, especially when transactions involve cash.

What do you buy besides coins, paper money, gold, and silver?

We buy lots of stuff: diamonds, gems, comic books (1960s and before), baseball cards (1960s and before), Star Wars toys (1980s and before), meteorites, stamp collections, pocket watches, and more. If you have something interesting to sell but it’s not for us, we can direct you to a potential buyer.
